The MTC and the Short Range Transit Plan

In this section:  Meeting Agendas

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the Regional Transportation Planning agency for the San Francisco Bay Area and thus is responsible for overseeing the preparation of all planning studies in accordance with State regulations. MTC requires public transit operators in its jurisdictions to complete a full or updated Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) every one to two years.

About the Short Range Transit Plan
The SRTP typically functions as the primary planning document for small and medium-size transit agencies, such as LAVTA.  LAVTA typically updates its SRTP every year. Its last SRTP was released in December 1998. This current planning effort will result in the SRTP for Fiscal Years 2001/2002 through 2012/2013. The Links below will let you download and view the SRTP.
