What types of information does Wheels Online receive at it's website?

The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting this site. In general, we receive two types of information: The personal information you provide voluntarily, and information collected by the servers about users as a whole.

Personal Information

We may request personal information when you submit comments to Wheels Online or register for any other promotional programs we may offer.  Our online comment card asks visitors for contact information (like their e-mail address, phone number, city, etc.) and the customer's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary.

Computer Information

Because of the way our webserver works, it will collect certain types of information about general activity at the Wheels Online website.  This does not include personal identifying information, but does include how many times the Wheels Online website has been visited, what pages are requested most, what IP addresses visitors are coming from and the date and time of each visit. The server compiles this data and and tracks the website activity overall rather than on an individual level.

Cookie Information

At this time Wheels Online does not make use of cookies except for the search feature, which is a 3rd party service that uses them to assist in providing search results.  If you wish to avoid the cookies, you can go to our Site Map to find the section you need.  Wheels Online also uses a website statistics service called Sitetracker, which assists in providing our website traffic statistics.  The Sitemeter are only on the welcome page, the Employment and the Procurement sections.

How does LAVTA use this information?

The personal information you voluntarily provide is used to fulfill your request (For example, like comments submitted on the Online Feedback Form).  Wheels Online does not disclose personal information to any party except: 1) When the purpose and manner of the disclosure has been disclosed to you prior to your providing the information, or 2) When disclosure is required by law.

An Important Notice for Children under 13

In keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), children under 13 years of age must have permission from a parent or legal guardian before providing personal information to us as described above.  LAVTA will not knowingly receive personal information from children under 13 years of age who have not received prior parental consent.  When the proper parental consent has been obtained, LAVTA will receive and use personal information from children as described in our privacy policy.  In following the COPPA guidelines, any personal information from a child stored by LAVTA will be deleted upon written request from the child's parent or legal guardian.  Deletions should be requested to the web administrators listed below.
