Just
grab your bike and follow these simple instructions and you're on your way! Your
safety is important to Wheels. We'd like you to enjoy the bike racks
and use them in a safe manner. Depending on the coach, the racks can either hold 2 or 3 bikes. The following are a few tips to help both you and
your bus operator.
Loading Your Bike
Below is the instructions for loading the bike into the rack.
- Prepare your bike for loading. Remove water bottles, pumps and any other loose items.
- Inform the bus operator that
you will be loading your bike. Do NOT assume the driver sees
you.
- You can load your bicycle from
the curb or in front of the bus. Do not step into oncoming traffic
to load your bike.
- Pull down to release the folded
bike rack, if necessary. You only need to use one hand. Do
not lean your bicycle against the coach.
- Lift your bicycle onto the rack
and fit the wheels into the proper wheel slots. Each wheel slot
is clearly labeled for the front and rear wheels.
- Raise the support arm over the
front tire of the bike. Your bike is now securely latched.
- Board the bus and enjoy the
ride. Pay your regular fare or show your pass, the bicycle rides
free. If the exterior rack is full, please wait for the next bus.
Unloading Your Bike
Follow the steps below on offloading your bike.
- Inform the bus
operator that you will be unloading your bike as you approach your stop.
Use the front door to exit the bus. Off load your bicycle from the front
of the coach or the curb. Do not step onto the traffic lane.
- Raise the support
arm off the tire. The support arm automatically folds down in a secure position. Lift your bicycle out of the bike rack.
- Fold up the bike
rack if there are no other bikes loaded. The bike rack locks in place.
- Step away from
the bus with your bike and you're on your way!
